If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough”. This is a quote I found on Instagram a while ago and I liked it, I even reposted it. But I did not truly have revelation of what this meant until the day the process of starting my own business began. It was a real emotion, hard to describe. It was that of a bowling ball dropping into my stomach. A pain followed by butterflies then anxiousness and finally, negative thoughts.
I remember clearly sitting in front of my laptop writing down my business plan, suddenly stopping everything, leaning forward, face into both palms, inhaling deeply, shrugging my shoulders and slowly exhaling. I was in a new dimension emotionally. It was that moment when I realized this is frightening! But oddly enough this gave me a fuel to continue on this path. I remember telling my boyfriend “Babe, I’m scared”. He then went on to comfort me and remind me why I am doing this. I couldn’t stop now I’m in the game, the ball is rolling and I just have to trust God and believe in myself. Dream big and go after it. Don’t let fear, anxiety, overwhelming thoughts or anything else get in the way.
Now, from my last blog up to now it’s incredible how many set backs and oppositions can come your way when you’re trying to achieve something. So, I’m telling you now, it’s not always going to be easy. But then again if it were, where would the accomplishment come from. Every bus ride, skipped meal, couch surfing, cold night, every audition bombed, no call back, no painting sold, gallery rejected you, all this will be part of your story! People will see the glory but they don’t know the story. Let yours be an inspiring one! Every obstacle you overcome will define your character and take you closer to realizing your dreams.
